TO CREATE THE HORIZONTAL ALIGNMENT:

As mentioned earlier, the horizontal alignment can be created several ways.   The easiest way is the point and shoot method, described briefly below.   To create the alignment through COGO (Open Alignment) see VOL I,   Part II,   Page 9-34.  "Open Alignment" is one method used if you already know the geometry of the alignment and simply want to duplicate it with GEOPAK.  VOL I,   Part II explains several ways to create the horizontal alignment through COORDINATE GEOMETRY.  A Secret way to create the horizontal alignment, using COGO, if you know the PI coordinates and other curve/spiral information, is also explained below.
