Location
The project is located within the Little Pend Oreille National Wildlife Refuge, approximately 13 miles southeast of Colville, off of Highway 20 in Stevens County, Washington.
Description
The project proposes to rehabilitate approximately 13 miles of gravel roads, including the improvement of informal turnouts into formalized pullouts. Additional activities include the improvement of the parking area at McDowell Lake, improvement of a casual use parking area on Rookery Road, replacement of two culverts on the North Fork Bear Creek, drainage maintenance along several roads, and rehabilitation of the River Camp Bridge. The project is planned for multiple phases, with the first phase scheduled for summer 2007 through fall 2008.
