Middle Fork Snoqualmie River Road
On May 31, 2012, FHWA selected the Preferred Alternative as described within the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River Road Project, WA PFH 29-1(1), Environmental Assessment and issued a Finding of No Significant Impact for the proposed Middle Fork Snoqualmie River Road Project. Design of the preferred alternative has continued and construction is anticipated to begin in spring of 2014. Construction is anticipated to occur from late-April through October in 2014 and 2015. In 2016 construction would be expected to be primarily paving operations, occurring from late-April through July.
The Western Federal Lands Highway Division of the Federal Highway Administration, in partnership with the US Forest Service and King County, released the Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed Middle Fork Snoqualmie River Road Project on April 7, 2012. The EA comment period closed on May 8, 2012. General comments or questions regarding the project may still be submitted by email to mfsnoqualmie@dot.gov.
An open house was held on Wednesday, April 18th to provide an opportunity for comments regarding the EA and input on the continuing development of the reconstruction of the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River Road, Forest Road 56, in King County and the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Project staff were on hand to show the latest information on the preferred alternative. Approximately 20 people attended. Meeting materials are available below:

Location
The Middle Fork Snoqualmie River Road is located north and east of the City of North Bend, which is approximately 30 miles east of Seattle along I-90.
