Proposed Cross-Section Help

There are now 3 ways to access the ".wri" files that contain help with using the FLH criteria for creating proposed cross sections:

  1. Access through Project Manager
  2. Access directly from the Server
  3. Access using the WFLHD Utilites menu via the MicroStation pulldowns (Currently only available for .x30 criteria)

Access through Project Manager:

While "in" your proposed cross section "run", click on Shape Clusters and then click on the Typical button as shown below:

The Typical button provides access to the Typical Sections dialog, (shown below). Select the Typical Section that you are interested in Help on, by clicking on one of the 6 Typical Sections. The example below illustrates accessing Help for the Undivided New Pavement (Unpavt) typical. When the Description button is pressed, the Proposed Cross Section help for that Typical Section is automatically launched in WordPad.

A fragment of the Help file (unpavt.wri) for the Undivided New Pavement (Unpavt) typical is shown below:

NOTE: There are individual Help files for each Typical Section.

Access directly from the Server:

Another method for accessing these Help files is directly from the server.

The Help files for the .x21 criteria are located under one of the following folders:

  • F:\V8_Resource\X_21\Typicals\English
  • F:\V8_Resource\X_21\Typicals\Metric

The Help files for the .x30 criteria are located under one of the following folders:

  • F:\V8_Resource\X_30\Typicals\English
  • F:\V8_Resource\X_30\Typicals\Metric

The individual Help files are indexed as follows:

Divided New Pavement DNPavt.wri (.x30 only)
Existing Features ExFeat.wri
Rehabilitation Pavement Rehab.wri
Right of Way ROW.wri
Undivided New Pavement UnPavt.wri
Cross Section Labeling XS_Lab.wri

Simply double click on any of the .wri files (on the server) and Help for that Typical Section will be automatically launched in WordPad.
